MY STORY
I built a business for over two decades
without ever letting people really see me.
I spent 19 years in the cruise industry — a world built entirely on presence, performance, and connection. I knew how to command a room. I knew how to make people feel something. And then in 2001, with three young daughters at home and a company filing for bankruptcy, everything changed.
I found SeneGence and built a direct sales business from scratch — one that would let me raise my girls, stay home, and earn real income. For over two decades I showed up for that business. I trained, I led, I taught other women how to present themselves and their products beautifully. But here's what I didn't do for a long time: I didn't show my face consistently on camera.

Then something happened that shook me. I started watching younger beauty influencers grow at incredible rates — thousands of followers, massive engagement, video after video going viral. And I sat there feeling something I wasn't proud of: Invisible. Irrelevant. Behind.
I struggled with my age. I struggled with how I looked on camera compared to the 28-year-olds lighting up my feed. I struggled with the tech — a whole new language I felt like I was learning years too late. And underneath all of it was a quiet, painful question I kept asking myself: Has my window already closed?
I worked with coaches. I did the mindset work. And slowly, something shifted. I stopped trying to compete with younger creators and started leaning into the one thing they could never replicate: my experience, my wisdom, and my story. I had decades of real life — of raising daughters, building businesses, leading teams, navigating loss and change and reinvention. That wasn't a disadvantage. It was my superpower.

I built a system — and then I started teaching it to other clients. That's how Kiss Me Katie 411 became what it is today. Not just a beauty brand. A place where experienced, capable women entrepreneurs come to finally be seen.
