For years I showed up for my business the way so many women do — posting products, sharing results, staying safely behind the screen. I was working hard. But I wasn't being seen. And deep down, I knew the difference. This is the story of what happened when I finally decided to show up as me.
You've been in business for years but feel invisible online — like your expertise is a secret only you know.
You know you should be on video but something keeps stopping you — fear, tech, or the story you tell yourself about how you look.
You've watched younger creators grow faster and wondered if you've missed your window. You haven't.
You're done dabbling. You want a real plan, a real community, and someone who has actually walked this path.
You want visibility that feels authentic — not like a performance, not like someone else's strategy copy-pasted onto your life.
You're ready to stop being the world's best kept secret and start showing up in a way that actually converts.
I built a business for over two decades
without ever letting people really see me.
I spent 19 years in the cruise industry — a world built entirely on presence, performance, and connection. I knew how to command a room. I knew how to make people feel something. And then in 2001, with three young daughters at home and a company filing for bankruptcy, everything changed.
I found SeneGence and built a direct sales business from scratch — one that would let me raise my girls, stay home, and earn real income. For over two decades I showed up for that business. I trained, I led, I taught other women how to present themselves and their products beautifully. But here's what I didn't do for a long time: I didn't show my face consistently on camera.
"I was posting products. I was sharing results. I was doing everything right — except letting people actually see me."
I hid behind beautiful flat lays and product photos. I let my results speak for me. And
while my business was good, it wasn't growing the way I knew it could. Because the truth is — in today's world, people don't buy products. They buy people. They buy the buy the woman they feel like hey already know.
Then something happened that shook me. I started watching younger beauty influencers grow at incredible rates — thousands of followers, massive engagement, video after video going viral. And I sat there feeling something I wasn't proud of: Invisible. Irrelevant. Behind.
I struggled with my age. I struggled with how I looked on camera compared to the 28-year-olds lighting up my feed. I struggled with the tech — a whole new language I felt like I was learning years too late. And underneath all of it was a quiet, painful question I kept asking myself: Has my window already closed?
I worked with coaches. I did the mindset work. And slowly, something shifted. I stopped trying to compete with younger creators and started leaning into the one thing they could never replicate: my experience, my wisdom, and my story. I had decades of real life — of raising daughters, building businesses, leading teams, navigating loss and change and reinvention. That wasn't a disadvantage. It was my superpower.
And the moment I let women my age actually see that — the real me, the struggles and the wins — everything changed. They didn't want a polished influencer. They wanted someone who understood exactly where they were standing.
"I had to let go of perfectionism and just start. That decision changed my business — and my life."
The moment I started showing up on video — really showing up, face and voice and story — things began to shift. Not overnight. Not perfectly. My early videos were shaky and I cringed watching them back. But something started happening. Clients started reaching out — coaches, service providers, entrepreneurs who saw themselves in my story and said 'I need what you have.' They booked calls. They joined programs. They grew.
Visibility wasn't vanity. It was strategy. I became certified in makeup artistry and color theory. I leaned into everything my cruise industry career had taught me about presence and performance. I built a system — and then I started teaching it to other clients. That's how Kiss Me Katie 411 became what it is today. Not just a beauty brand. A place where experienced, capable women entrepreneurs come to finally be seen.
"The camera doesn't steal your confidence. It reveals it."
And once you find it — once you hit record and realize it wasn't nearly as scary as you'd built it up to be — you'll wonder why you waited so long. That moment — when your clients look at their own video and think 'wait, I actually like that' — is the moment I live for. And it's available to you too.
A few things I know to be true.
💋 Your face is your most powerful marketing tool — no caption, no graphic, no product photo will ever build trust the way your face and voice can. Your people need to see you.
🎬 Connection over perfection — always — your slightly imperfect, real and relatable video will connect more than the polished one you never post. Done beats perfect every time.
✨ Visibility should be simple enough to sustain — if your strategy requires three hours and a film crew, you won't do it. I teach what's actually doable — so you actually show up.
🧑🏻🤝🧑🏻 Community makes everything better — we are not meant to do this alone. The right community cheering you on changes everything about how consistently you show up.
🎉 This is supposed to be fun — visibility doesn't have to feel like a chore. When your clients are finding you and reaching out — it starts to feel like the best part of your week.
🌟 You are not too late and not too old — 50+ is not a limitation. It's a superpower. You have decades of experience, wisdom, and story that no 25-year-old influencer can replicate.
